Abstract


This study aims to show that, the reproduction of Caledonian complexity of identity positioning in the SLN corporate determines the perception of the organizational culture and mediates the effects of the outline level on the individual commitment towards the organization. In this perspective, we combined ethnological approaches and the analysis of individual behavior to query 430 employees. The main result of our work reveals that, communities membership are essential to understanding the identity attributes whose employees use to enter, grow within the company and justify the rank that they occupy. While the metropolitan’s employees express an emotional attachment towards the SLN, Kanak employees maintain continuance commitment with SLN that they see a source of wealth and employment.

Abstract: (french)


Cette recherche montre que la reproduction de la complexité calédonienne des positionnements identitaires au sein de la SLN, influence la perception de la culture d’entreprise et médiatise les effets du statut hiérarchique sur l'engagement envers l'entreprise. Les informations collectées auprès 430 salariés de la SLN nous ont permis de mettre en perspective les conduites individuelles dans une analyse sociohistorique du contexte. Nos résultats révèlent notamment qu’à la SLN, l’appartenance communautaire permet de saisir le mode d’entrer dans l’entreprise et justifie le rang que chaque salarié y occupe. Ainsi, la perception des dimensions de la culture d'entreprise varie selon la communauté d’appartenance (F_((2,8)) = 2,7 ; p < 0,007). En outre, tandis que les salariés d’origine européenne expriment un engagement affectif vis-à-vis de la SLN, les autres y construisent des rapports calculés.
