Objective: To identify the factors associated with resurgence of cholera in the Western coast of the lake Eduard. Methods: We led a cross-sectional study to analytical aiming relating to the factors associated with resurgence of cholera in the Western coast of the lake Eduard. The data were collected near 770 heads of households of eight villages which form the side Western of the lake Edouard. A logistic regression enabled us to identify the factors associated with resurgence of cholera in the Western coast of the lake Edouard. Results: The main factors associated with resurgence of cholera were the educational level, the size of the household, the nature of the ground, the environmental characteristics of the medium and the presence in the medium of moved the interns (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The factors associated with resurgence of cholera in the Western coast of the lake Edouard are related to economic, geographical, ecological factors and policies of this zone. A strategy taking account of these factors is essential for an effective prevention of the cholera.

Objectif: Identifier les facteurs associés à la résurgence du choléra dans la côte occidentale du lac Edouard. Méthodes: Nous avons mené une étude transversale à visée analytique portant sur les facteurs associés à la résurgence du cholera dans la côte occidentale du lac Edouard. Les données ont été collectées auprès de 770 chefs de ménages de huit villages qui forment la côté occidentale du lac Edouard. Une régression logistique nous a permis d’identifier les facteurs associés à la résurgence du cholera dans la côte occidentale du lac Edouard. Résultats : Les principaux facteurs associés à la résurgence du cholera étaient le niveau d’instruction, la taille du ménage, la nature du sol, les caractéristiques environnementales du milieu et la présence dans le milieu des déplacés internes (p < 0,05). Conclusion: Les facteurs associés à la résurgence du cholera dans la côte occidentale du lac Edouard sont liés à des facteurs économiques, géographiques, écologiques et politiques de cette zone. Une stratégie tenant compte de ces facteurs s’impose pour une prévention efficace du choléra.
