This article attempts to analyze the application of the free teaching in publical primary schools of the educational sub province of Goma especially giving off the effects, impacts and perspectives. In that educational sub province, the free teaching is applied in agreement with the law. This way of doing things has got its advantages for parents on one hands and negative impacts for teachers, schools, state and pupils on the other hands. It causes the increasement of pupils’ number in classes, something which influence negatively the quality of teaching/learning process. Schools undergo much short comings namely, pedagogical, material and financial ones. A number of efforts are still evolved by all partners of education so as to lay well the free teaching.

Cet article analyse l’application de la gratuité de l’enseignement dans les écoles primaires publiques de la Sous-province éducationnelle de Goma tout en dégageant ses effets, ses défis et ses perspectives. Dans cette sous- province éducationnelle, la gratuité est appliquée en conformité avec la loi. Cette application a des avantages pour les parents mais aussi des désavantages pour les enseignants, les écoles, l’Etat et les élèves. Elle provoque l’augmentation des effectifs des élèves dans des classes et y affecte négativement la qualité de l’enseignement-apprentissage. Les écoles se butent à beaucoup de défis notamment les défis pédagogiques, matériels et financiers. Des multiples efforts restent à consentir par tous les partenaires éducatifs de la RDC afin de bien asseoir cette gratuité.
