The mastery of oral and communication skills is a real instrument of power and social progress. Their mastery of their learning is a decisive issue for equal opportunities for academic success and to facilitate integration into the world of work. This skill occupies an ambiguous and complex place in the teaching of French at university. Omnipresent and absent at the same time, the spoken word is the poor relation. The writing dominates it and crowns the evaluations. This contribution will try to shed light on what is said and on the possibility of considering teaching this skill at the Moroccan university.

La maitrise de l’oral et des habilités de communication est un véritable instrument de pouvoir et d’ascension sociale. Leur maitrise leur apprentissage est un enjeu déterminant pour l’égalité des chances dans la réussite à l’école et faciliter l’insertion dans le monde du travail. Cette compétence occupe une place ambiguë et complexe dans l’enseignement du français à l’université. Omniprésente et absente à la fois, l’oral est le parent pauvre. L’écrit le domine et couronne les évaluations. Cette contribution essaiera d’apporter des éclairages sur ce que l’oral, et sur la possibilité d’envisager un enseignement de cette compétence à l’université marocaine.
