This article focuses on the taeching of the derivative in the 3rd year of science in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He poses the fundamental question of his conceptual meaning " what is it for ?" The field work has highligted the aspect calculations, algorithms of computation. Nothing special about what it's used for. This historical work of interptation of the derivative and to ask the question of how to introduce different aspects in our teaching.

Cet article porte sur l'enseignement de la dérivée en 3ème année des humanités scientifiques en République Démocratique du Congo. Il pose la question fondamentale de son sens conceptuel "le à quoi ça sert ? " Les travaux de terrain ont mis en évidence l'aspect calcul, les algorithmiques des calculs. Rien de particulier sur le à quoi sert la dérivée. Le travail historique et épistémologique de la dérivée nous a conduits à mettre en évidence un nombre d'interprétations de la dérivée et à se poser la question de comment s'y prendre pour introduire différents aspects dans notre enseignement.
