The introductory database course is given to students of the different disciplines of our institution. This course focuses on the design and implementation of relational databases. The purpose of our paper is to present a pedagogical and didactic reflexion on this course. We will try to answer the following questions: Which knowledge objects should be transposed? What are the expected learning outcomes? What pedagogical and didactic tools to use to promote teaching/learning? What teaching approach should be adopted to achieve the learning objectives?

Abstract

Le cours d’introduction aux bases de données est dispensé aux étudiants des différentes filières de notre institution. Ce cours à la fois théorique et pratique, se rapporte à la conception, la mise en œuvre et l'utilisation des bases de données relationnelles. L’objectif de notre article, est de présenter une réflexion pédagogique et didactique sur ce cours. Pour cela nous essayerons de répondre aux questions suivantes: Quels objets de savoir doivent être transposés ? Quelles sont les résultats attendus de l’apprentissage ? Quels outils pédagogiques et didactiques utiliser pour favoriser l’enseignement/apprentissage ? Quelle démarche d’enseignement adopter pour atteindre les objectifs d’apprentissage ?
