This research aims to study the obstacles encountered by young Congolese graduates in setting up their businesses. Identifying these barriers provides useful knowledge to help young people succeed in their entrepreneurial activities and projects. To this end, we examine a sample of 588 young Congolese graduates of higher and university education located in the city of Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). A research approach made up of quantitative techniques, specifically the questionnaire survey, made it possible to collect the data necessary to understand the obstacles to business creation by young Congolese graduates. We opted for exploratory research. Three groups of major obstacles are mentioned in this research: the individual obstacles to business creation among young people, the obstacles related to the economic, institutional and regulatory, cultural, social and educational environment for the creation of a business companies and finally, the obstacles linked to the business creation project. The results of the study reveal that young people perceive difficult access to financing, difficult access to credit, lack of professional experience, absence or insufficient support and accompaniment, lack of personal funds, insufficient education and training programs, difficulties in preparing the business plan, lack of entrepreneurial culture, a policy of guidance and information, and skills and knowledge in entrepreneurship as the main obstacles to starting a business. This study ends with recommendations on how to improve youth entrepreneurship in the DRC.

Cette recherche vise à étudier les freins que rencontrent les jeunes diplômés congolais dans la création de leurs entreprises. L'identification de ces obstacles fournit des connaissances utiles pour aider les jeunes à réussir leurs activités et projets entrepreneuriaux. A cet effet, nous examinons un échantillon de 588 jeunes diplômés congolais de l’enseignement supérieur et universitaire se trouvant dans la Ville de Kinshasa, en République démocratique du Congo (RDC). Une approche de recherche composée de techniques quantitatives, spécifiquement, l'enquête par questionnaire a permis de collecter les données nécessaires à la compréhension des obstacles à la création d’entreprise par les jeunes diplômés congolais. Nous avons opté pour une recherche exploratoire. Trois groupes d’obstacles majeurs sont évoqués dans la présente recherche: les freins individuels à la création d’entreprise chez les jeunes, les freins en rapport avec l’environnement économique, institutionnel et régulateur, culturel, social et éducatif de la création d’entreprises et enfin, les freins liés au projet de création d’entreprise. Les résultats de l'étude révèlent que les jeunes perçoivent l’accès difficile au financement, l’accès difficile au crédit, le manque d’expérience professionnelle, l’absence ou l’insuffisance d’appui et d’accompagnement, le manque de fonds personnels, les programmes d’éducation et de formation insuffisants, les difficultés dans la préparation du plan d’affaires, l’absence de la culture entrepreneuriale, d’une politique d’orientation et d’information, et de compétences et de connaissances en entrepreneuriat comme principaux obstacles à la création d’entreprise. Cette étude se termine par des recommandations sur la manière d'améliorer l'entrepreneuriat des jeunes en RDC.
