The Democratic Republic of Congo is one of the vast countries of the African continent, with a surface area of 2345 million km2. It has a rich soil and subsoil that can be used as a primary development sector. The geology of the DRC is known only in a regional context, i.e., not in great detail, and requires a great deal of investigation on smaller scales. With this in mind, we aim to provide more detailed data on the geology of the Lukula region. The aim is to find occurrences of mineralization in the various formations encountered and evaluate its river (Rivière Lukula) in order to propose a model for the circulation of fluids carrying these mineralizations and finally to plan a prospective study. Our study area is the Lukula territory, which is rich in mineral concentrations, which is why we focused on in situ and laboratory petrography, laboratory metallogeny and metallography, and the evaluation of its large river, where mining activities take place (artisanal mining). Artisanal gold mining has been going on for decades now, and during our fieldwork we got our fingers on the gold and some diamond showings in our study area.

La République Démocratique du Congo fait partie des vastes pays du continent africain avec une superficie qui couvre 2345 millions de km2. Elle renferme un sol et un sous-sol riches qui peuvent constituer un secteur primaire de développement. La géologie de la RDC est connue de manière régionale, c’est-à-dire peu détaillée et nécessite de nombreuses investigations à des échelles plus réduites. C’est dans cette optique que nous souhaitons apporter des données plus détaillées sur la géologie de la région de la Lukula. L’objectif poursuivi est de trouver des occurrences de minéralisation dans les différentes formations rencontrées et évaluer sa rivière (Rivière Lukula) afin de proposer un modèle de circulation des fluides porteurs de ces minéralisations et enfin de planifier une étude prospective. Le territoire de Lukula est notre zone d’étude ce dernier contient des concentrations minérales, raison pour laquelle nous nous sommes concentrés sur l’aspect pétrographique in situ et au laboratoire, métallogénique et métallographique au laboratoire ainsi que l’évaluation de sa grande rivière où se passe les activités minières (Exploitation artisanale). L’exploitation artisanale de l’or ça date longtemps donc des décennies jusqu’à présent, et pendant notre descente sur terrain nous avons palpé du doigt l’or et quelques indices du diamant dans notre zone d’étude.
