Located in the west of Côte d’Ivoire in the department of Facobly, the Guezon area was unknown from an ornithological point of view before the present study. This work was carried out from April 2022 to May 2022 in order to contribute to a better knowledge (diversity and abundance) of the avifauna in this area. The methods of fixed listening and/or observation points, capture and recapture with mist nets, Call-playback and time-limited counts on linear transects with five-minute stopping points at each station, were used in the different habitats of the area. In total, this locality contains 12.685 individuals of 161 bird species divided into 47 families of 16 orders. Bycanistes cylindricus, classified as Vulnerable (VU), is the only globally protected species found in the area. In addition, it hosts six restricted-range species and three species (Batis senegalensis, Apalis sharpii and Hylopsar cupreocauda) endemic to West Africa. There are also 18 species from the Guinean-Congolese forest biome (GC) and five species from the Sudano-Guinean savannah biome (SG). The resident species are the most diverse with 83.85% of the overall population in the study area. In terms of preferred habitats, generalist forest species (F) are the best represented with 60.87% (N = 98) of the species richness of this area. Ploceus cucullatus, Spermestes cucullatus, Egretta intermedia and Bubulcus ibis are the most dominant with 471; 340; 327 and 316 individuals respectively.

Située à l’ouest de la Côte d’Ivoire dans le département de Facobly, la zone de Guezon est méconnue du point de vue ornithologique avant la présente étude. Ces travaux ont été réalisés d’avril 2022 à mai 2022 afin de contribuer à une meilleure connaissance (diversité et abondance) de l’avifaune de cette zone. Les méthodes de points fixes d’écoute et/ou d’observation, de capture et recapture aux filets japonais, de repasse de vocalisation et des comptages à durée déterminée sur des transects linéaire avec des points d’arrêt de cinq minutes à chaque station, ont été utilisées dans les différents habitats de la zone. Au total, cette localité renferme 12685 individus de 161 espèces d’oiseaux réparties entre 47 familles de 16 ordres. Bycanistes cylindricus de la catégorie Vulnérable (VU), est la seule espèce à protection d’intérêt mondial observée dans la zone. En outre, elle héberge trois espèces à répartition restreinte et six espèces endémiques à l’Afrique de l’Ouest. On note également la présence de 18 espèces du biome des forêts guinéo-congolaises (GC) et cinq du biome des savanes soudano-guinéennes (SG). Les espèces résidentes sont les plus diversifiées avec 83,85% du peuplement global de la zone d’étude. En termes d’habitats préférentiels, les espèces généralistes des forêts (F) sont les mieux représentées avec 60,87% (N = 98) de la richesse spécifique de cette zone. Spermestes cucullatus, Egretta intermedia et Bubulcus ibis sont les plus dominantes avec des effectifs respectifs de 471; 340; 327 et 316 individus.
