The purpose of this study is to analyze the determinants of farmers' willingness to pay (CAP) amounts for the use of microdose technology components on farms in the Kourittenga and Zondoma provinces of Burkina Faso. Faced with the precariousness of the productivity of their lands, farmers make investments in the practice of innovative microdose technology to improve and maintain the productive capital of crop plots. However, the factors determining the amounts granted for the practice of the components are little known. The literature in this area is generally focused on the perception of technology adoption and less on the determinants of investment and willingness to pay. The purpose of this study is to analyze the determinants of farmers' willingness to pay (CAP) amounts for the use of microdose technology components on farms in the Kourittenga and Zondoma provinces of Burkina Faso. A survey was conducted among 360 farm households in municipalities in both provinces and the data were collected using a semi-structured questionnaire. Heckman's two-stage selection model was used for this study The results of the analysis revealed that: experience in microdose technique, social status, area, land tenure and distance from fields are factors influencing willingness to pay reported by farming households for the practice of the components 'Stony Cordons + Compost + Microdose'; the 'Zai + Compost + Microdose' and the 'Zaï + Manure + Microdose'. While household size, available area, level of education, literacy and farm income influence the amounts reported by farmers. However, the great heterogeneity of farmers' characteristics and the different contexts impose case-by-case options in order to take into account local specificities.

Cette étude vise à analyser les facteurs déterminants du consentement à payer (CAP) l’utilisation des composantes de la technologie ‘microdose’ dans les exploitations agricoles des provinces du Kourittenga et du Zondoma au Burkina Faso. Confrontés à la précarité de la productivité de leurs terres, les agriculteurs consentent des investissements dans la pratique de la technologie innovante ‘microdose’ afin d’améliorer et d’entretenir le capital productif des parcelles de cultures. Cependant, les facteurs déterminants le consentement à payer pour la pratique des composantes sont peu connus. Les études en la matière sont généralement focalisées sur la perception de l’adoption des technologies et moins sur les déterminants du consentement à payer la pratique des technologies. Une enquête a été conduite auprès de 360 ménages agricoles dans six (06) communes des deux provinces et les données ont été collectées à l’aide d’un questionnaire semi-structuré. Le modèle de sélection à deux étapes de Heckman, a été utilisé pour cette analyse. Les résultats ont révélé que : l’expérience en technique microdose, le statut social, la zone, le mode de faire-valoir de la terre et la distance des champs, sont des facteurs influençant le consentement à payer déclarés par les ménages agricoles pour la pratique des composantes ‘Cordons Pierreux + Compost + Microdose’ ; le ‘Zaï + Compost + Microdose’ et le ‘Zaï + Fumier + Microdose’. Tandis que la taille du ménage, la superficie disponible, le niveau d’instruction, l’alphabétisation et le revenu agricole influencent les montants déclarés par les exploitants agricoles. Toutefois, la grande hétérogénéité des caractéristiques des agriculteurs et les différents contextes, imposent des options par cas afin de prendre en compte les spécificités locales.
