The trade sector has experienced significant development in Morocco in recent years, today this sector is one of the pillars of the national economy, it is the second job provider in Morocco after agriculture.In 2017, this sector represented 13% of the country's active population and even ranked as the third contributor.to national GDP with added value created in the same year of around 84.2 billion dirhams.This sector is also characterized by concealed competition between traditional distribution and modern distribution.In fact, the share of traditional trade has gradually decreased in recent years in favor of modern trade. The traditional trade sector is in danger of collapse in the face of the spectacular growth of modern distribution.The objective of this article is the presentation of traditional trade in Morocco and the identification of the problems, which prevent its development following a study on this sector.

Abstract

Le secteur commerce a connu un développement important au Maroc ces dernières années, aujourd’hui ce secteur est l’un des piliers de l’économie nationale, il s’agit du deuxième pourvoyeur d’emploi au Maroc après l’agriculture. En 2017 ce secteur représente 13% de la population active du pays et classé même comme le troisième contributeur au PIB national avec une valeur ajoutée créée la même année d’environ 84.2 milliards de dirhams. Ce secteur se caractérise également par une concurrence dissimulée entre la distribution traditionnelle et la distribution moderne. En effet la part du commerce traditionnel a baissé progressivement au cours de ces dernières années au profit du commerce moderne. Le secteur du commerce traditionnel est menacé d’effondrement face à la progression spectaculaire de la distribution moderne. L’objectif de cet article est la présentation du commerce traditionnel au Maroc et l’identification des problèmes qui empêchent son développement suite à une étude sur ce secteur.
